Box 17162 Colorado Springs, CO 80935-7162 Bear Creek Regional Park Seasonal Photos   courtesy of Dale Hays Special Programs: Walking the USA, A-Z Rails-to-Trails (7K & 12K only) Par for the Course IVV – Americas Distance:  5, 7, & 12 Kilometers (3.1, 4.3, & 7.4 miles) Walk Rating:  2C Seasonal:  April 1 through December 31 Start/Finish times:  Dawn to dusk Starting point:  Alta Store (Conoco), 2105 W Colorado Ave. Directions:  From I-25, take exit 141 (US Hwy 24 West).  Go west on US 24, one and a half miles to 21st St.  Turn north (right) and go two blocks to Colorado Avenue.  The Alta Store is on the left (southwest corner of West Colorado Ave & 21St. Special Instructions:  Event info:  At the start/finish, you will pick up a map with driving directions on how to get to the walk trailhead.  The trail is rated a 2C, due to hills and the altitude (6,500 ft).  The trail is on maintained dirt and horse paths.  Large wheeled strollers can complete the trail.  Wheelchairs are not recommended.  Pets must be leashed.  Restrooms are available at the start/finish and along the trail.  County:  El Paso.
